Biography

DANNY JONES

     Danny Jones is an award-winning producer/engineer/songwriter/musician/educator whose credits includeAllen Toussaint, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Patti LaBelle, Al Green, Michael McDonald, Etta James, Bobby "Blue" Bland, The Staple Singers, The Beach Boys, Joe Sample, Kirk Whalum, Bo Diddley, Pitbull, The Neville Brothers, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Sam Houston State University Jazz Ensemble, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

     In his years as a member of the Recording Academy (the Grammys)  he has served as National Trustee, National VP, Memphis Chapter President, and, on the Memphis and Texas Chapter Board of Governors. He served as Committee Chairman and one of the producers and mixer of the Premier Players Awards Show  in Memphis (aired on PBS).  As part of the Texas chapter Danny serves on the Education Committee, the Producers & Engineers Wing Committee, has served as a workshop leader for GRAMMY U , and represented the Texas Chapter at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in 2012, 2013 and 2014. 

     In addition to his professional industry endeavors Danny has taught privately, and in class room situations, drums/percussion, songwriting, and/or music production at the elementary, junior high, high school, and university levels (which includes many years as adjunct faculty at the University of Memphis). Many of his students have earned positions in Region, Area, and All-State bands in Texas and Arkansas, while some have gone on to have successful careers as professionals in the music industry.

     Currently, Danny continues to write, play, produce and engineer with some exciting new projects to be released and/or announced in 2016. He is also on the lookout for new talent and collaborations.......so STAY TUNED!
